2016 r5 grounding blocks

Post by RScott »

New to Cobalt and loving it. We are having electrical issues on our 2016 r5 like Captains Call not working with switch, horn not working, radio not functioning correctly (new unit), trim tabs not working, gauges coming in and out( trim/fuel more than speed/tach) . Can anyone please tell or show with pictures where the grounding blocks might be. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a '14 R5. Not sure if there are multiple grounding block locations, but the one that looks to be a main grounding block is located just behind the motor on the transom. I have just started to get into tracing stereo/amp wiring on our boat. Hope this helps

I don't have an R5, but there's usually a second one behind the driver's console which you can access pretty easily by removing a vertical carpeted panel behind the front seat.

Thank you,I contacted Cobalt and they told me where to look (both places) He said my problem sounded like a loose ground wire.
