2001 model boat
i have it on a lift in Missouri. The mechanic that used to do this for me for the past 7 years has retired and moved on to better things.
I called several shops in the area but nobody wants to "take on new customers" with such an old boat.
I had seen previously on here an engine manual for the 5.0 GI that had a pretty good step by step process, but now of course I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone have a link to such a manual or the process?
I'm not worried about doing it, just want to make sure I'm crossing all the t's and dotting the i's if you will.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah I found that, but on (most? I suppose I could have missed one) of the 5.0gi models I could find (I don't have my serial number handy) it just says on the "winterization" topic. "Go to your "Authorized Volvo Penta dealer"

And thanks for the welcome.

I sent you a message, but I'm not sure that I did it right, did you get it?

Looks like Volvo's missing some of the old manuals, but they're around elsewhere on the Internet. Check out pages 45 and 75 of this, for example:

Well, I ended up talking with the guy that would do it for me and he agreed to take me back on. This time I watched him do it, so that I have the knowledge. It's similar enough to the process outlined in the manual posted above. One item is that he would plug the intake hose for the water pump. His reasoning on that was if in the unfortunate event the lift failed, the engine compartment wouldn't fill with water, potentially damaging the lift or dock and sinking the boat.

For boats on a trailer that's obviously not necessary.
