New to the site and to owning a cobalt. Just picked up a 262 with the 8.2 volvo out of lake Cumberland in Kentucky. Boat is in need of vinyl replacement soon. It runs well and everything seems to work as it should. I'm not new to boating I am coming from a '89 Formula 242 and have had several different makes and models in my life. I'm pretty sure this one will be around for a long time. The size and open bow should be perfect for raising my 2 boys on.

So glad you found us db.....and that is one great looking boat!

We have owned both the 262 and the 263. Great machines.

Vinyl replacement can be tricky, especially the side wrap arounds.

Formula makes a great boat too. Post a pic of that one if you get the chance. Love that brand.

And welcome aboard mate!

Here is the Formula that I will be selling in the springs since I bought the 262. The Donzi is my fun toy that will stick around for the occasional run around day.

Thanks, my dad has a '67 sixteen with a 302 and the Eaton drive. The 22 I have is a black hawk look alike. It has a 496 stroker with a mild cam for 500hp/ 600ft.tq.

Awesome
And sounds like your dad and mine were kindred spirits. He still talks about that Eaton outdrive and shearing cotter pins behind the prop. He actually called Don Aronow to discuss that issue and prop sizing. The good ole’ days.

Just a heads up, see the attached link. There is a guy over on OSO who's is hot on the trail for an 89' formula 242. Might want to reach out to him!

Thanks for the heads up Jwill as well as the shout out on OSO. I've been a member on there for some years. Once I bring it out of storage in the spring and give everything a once over I will reach out on that thread. It only cost me 300 to store it for the winter and I believe it will bring more if I sell in the spring. If anyone knows anyone who will be looking around them let me know.

It's an 89 with 150 kplanes and indicators with a 2001 fuel injected 454 sitting on a 2007 eagle trailer. Cuddy is dry and everything except the speedometer works ( outdrive has a noise cone blocking the speedometer pick up) I would say boat is a 7 out of 10 overall.
