2014 24SD: dead battery’s

Post by 24SDSOFL »

Is there a manual over ride to open the rear hydro engine hatch in the event of duel battery failure? Got some issues where I lost power, both batteries dead and can’t open hatch. Currently trying to charge the second battery through the side hatch but no luck with hydrolics power. Bilge quit as well and I have a nice amount of water to empty (can’t get to drain plug). Thanks

Not sure about manually opening. There should be jumper connections near the battery switch you could get power to and open the hatch

So for anyone who encounters this issue in the future I have resolution. The rear hatch can be picked up manually w/o uncoupling the hydraulic rams. The engine hatch on the 24SD and presumably any Cobalt is heavy as hell but it can be done. Once you muscle the hatch up, the manual steel stick can be positioned to hold it up.
