I am in the process of getting our '01 226 lake-ready and wanted to know what maintenance should be done on the 8.1 Gi as well as any other components. So far, the following has been serviced/replaced: the Steering Actuator, Trim Sending Unit, Serpentine Belt, Gear lube, Impeller, and Water Pump seal. I plan on changing the oil and filter, replacing the spark plugs, and fuel filter this weekend. I'm also wondering where to get parts from, I'm assuming the VP dealer is going to be my best bet. Is there anything else that should be done? The hour meter is sitting at just under 600 hours. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

I have had very good luck, if you know the actual Volvo Penta part number, in sourcing parts off of Amazon. One great thing there, is being able to get parts fast if needed. There are many sellers on Amazon, so you can compare prices of genuine Volvo parts with several different sellers.

+1

I put all parts numbers on the 'Notes" on my cell phone. Makes it easy to buy elsewhere.
