I could not imagine. Not only drinking but just paying attention. Every thing looks so different on the water and it only takes a second. I have a good navigator and it never hurts to have more eyes on the water and your surroundings.

These are pictures of my buddy's boat from a couple of years ago. The bass boat that ran over him was running seventy from the operators own admission.

The video at the beginning of this thread is what it must've been like for him. His wife was laying across the back watching the stars and Mike was setting at the helm.

When the bass boat turned at the last minute he done over her to protect her and the boat went right over the top of him . 15 inches to the left and it would have cut him in half.

No it's a Nautique that he bought new in 88 when he was skiing competitively. It took the steering console out. After they somewhat recovered immediately afterwards Mike didn't know if they were sinking or not.

He literally picked the steering wheel up from the floor, started the motor and idled back to the dock about a mile away. The cables were still hooked up so he could somewhat steer. It was a crazy deal for sure.

This is why I installed the underwater lights and the interior lighting. I'm not worried about hitting someone, I'm worried about some one cruising the lake at high speed at night and hitting me. Maybe the lights will help them see my boat.
