My cheap river anchor was no match for the winds this past weekend, guess I’ll be upgrading to something like a fortress or box anchor.

I prefer the box anchor. Found mine on FB marketplace.

I just upgraded to a mantus m1 8lb anchor on my 232. Could not be happier with the performance. I was a bit unsure whether it would fit in the anchor locker when ordering but fits just fine. Although on the pricey side, would highly recommend.

Another vote here for the small box anchor. Holds my A25 beautifully.

We're still very pleased with our Lewmar Delta. The 14lb version would not fit the anchor locker of our 22' bow rider. So I bought the 9lb model. With a short length of chain and sufficient scope it has worked very well for us. Technique is key for good anchoring.

I've hear really good things about the box anchor Dhooghe and others mentioned above, and would probably give that a try if I didn't already have a Richter anchor that works pretty well. Still, I'd probably use a 6' length of chain at the end of the rode between the anchor and line, just because it makes me feel safer and I'm familiar with it.

+1 for the box anchor. We have the medium size (~14 lb) and love it. Attach rope, throw it in, done. No more backing up to set it, etc.

We have a 20lb. box anchor for our 276 that we used for the first time last weekend. Sourced via Amazon for $95+ tax delivered. Worked like a champ!

I ended up going with a 14# box about a month ago and it works fantastic
