Wow. That's sad Okie. How far is that from you?

I remember going down to Texoma to look at a boat once and looking around at all the outdoor living rooms and kitchens on the docks. I was amazed!! Ive never seen headpiers wide enough to build a bar, living room and kitchen in front of a boat. Who needs a lake house? That's the only place I've ever seen anything like that, and some of those places are pretty elaborate. They even had a lane to drive their golf carts down onto. And all on the docks! While it looks very fun, I'd worry about something like this happening if my boat was slipped there.

I'm surprised we don't hear about someone going off the edge in their carts too. Maybe it happens and we just don't hear about it?

I grew up in OK and one of my best memories is going to Texoma with some friends when I was 18 for a mini Spring Break over Memorial weekend (a looonng time ago). Seems just like yesterday.

Scary stuff! Glad to hear no fatalities, but awfully sad to see people lose things you can't just put a price on.

Just under 5 miles as the crow flies... Buncombe Creek is on the OK side, Mill Creek on the TX side.

I don't hear about golf carts going into the lake... would thing the Army Corps would ban them
if it were a common occurrence. Think you can lose your slip at BC for carrying gasoline onto
the docks. That's apparently not what happened at Mill Creek.

Lucky that a lot of the materials were not just more tinder for the fire.
