Fuel Guage discrepancy on 240

Post by BillP »

Anyone know how to access the fuel sender in a 240? I have a fuel gauge that constantly reads around 1/2 full and need to check the system. Thanks!

Hey Bill P. Welcome to the Cobalt Chat forum!

I wish I could help you with your question. I'm just not familiar with the 240 fuel system. However, there are some wise folks here who may be able to chime in.

Again, great to have you on board. Hope you stay awhile!

Welcome Bill. We will see if YT chimes in here. I'm guessing it's under the rear bench seat. It will have a plastic access cover that just unscrews. It's going to be just forward of the center of the engine.

Thanks, didn't see any obvious ports, but I'll look for it inside the rear seat floor.

Welcome BillP! I have a 240 but have never had to access the sender. It seems like the access cover is under the table top in the floor, but I can't remember right now and my boat is at the lake.
Also, look at the rear storage compartment just in front of the motor. The sidewalls and bottom come out with a few screws, and the sending unit might be under there.

Thanks, yes... it was under the table.
